Since 1990, women have made up over half of the new entrants into the legal profession, and yet still, only a third of partners in private practice are female. Year on year, the legal industry continues to see huge numbers of talented female associates leaving private practice law firms and also the profession as a whole. And whilst the exodus is mainly seen at the senior associate level, the reality is that decision process begins much earlier.
Developing Diversity is a commercial skills workshop and networking group, aimed at improving the retention and progression of female associates in law firms, by targeting those right at the beginning of their legal careers.
Through a series of targeted events, Developing Diversity connects trainees and associates with senior female role models and helps them to cultivate the commercial skills and behaviours necessary for successful career progression.
Whilst our events are focused on topics particularly pertinent to the advancement of women’s careers, anyone who feels as if they could benefit from them is encouraged to attend.
Developing Diversity was set up by FRS Associates Senior Consultant, Aija Maddocks, of Fox Rodney Search, a global recruitment firm specialising in the legal sector.
